Research interests:
Mechanisms of ATP-driven motor proteins and their regulation. I have been working on structural studies of macromolecular complexes, including motor proteins (AAA-proteins, myosin, kinesin), regulatory proteins (tropomyosin, troponin), and membrane proteins (photosystem II) using electron microscopy and image analysis. I am also working on joint projects on chromatin (with Dr. T. Schalch and Prof. T. Richmond) and on ribosome (with Dr. C. Berger-Schaffitzel and Prof. N. Ban).
